KISAN MELA TO BE HELD IN BATHINDA ON SEP 22

Bathinda, : The Punjab Agricultural University is organizing Kisan Mela on September 22, 2015 at Regional Station, Dabwali Road, Bathinda. The arrangements being made for organizing the kisan mela were reviewed and varous committees were constituted for its smooth conduct. Dr. Paramjit Singh, Director, Regional Station, Bathinda said that the theme of Kisan Mela is an appeal to farmers to let department know the ways to refrain them from using excessive water, fertilizers, chemical and burning paddy stubble.
He told that the seeds of improved varieties of different rabi crops including new variety of wheat HD-3086 and fruit plants recommended by PAU will be sold on this occasion. Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon, Vice Chancellor, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana will preside over the function.
The exhibition will be displayed by different departments of Punjab Agricultural University and other allied concerns. The subject matter specialists from PAU Ludhiana will share the research findings with the farmers. Besides this, queries of the farmers will be addressed by the experts. Farm-women will be provided technical know-how with respect to household activities. The farm literature will be provided at the occasion of kisan mela.Dr. Paramjit appealed to the farmers to participate in the kisan mela along with their families.
