GOVERNOR ALLOTS PORTFOLIOS TO NEWLY INDUCTED MINISTERS

Chandigarh, : On the advice and recommendation of Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh, after being sworn-in, the Punjab Governor VP Singh Badnore today allotted portfolios to the newly inducted Ministers.

Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of the Chief Minister’s Office said that Capt. Amarinder Singh would hold the portfolios of General Administration, Personnel, Home Affairs and Justice, Vigilance and all other departments not assigned to any other Minister. Cabinet Minister Mr. Brahm Mohindra has been given the portfolios of Health & Family Welfare, Research & Medical Education and Parliamentary Affairs. Likewise, Cabinet Minister Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu has been allotted the portfolios of Local Government and Tourism & Cultural Affairs, Archives and Museums.

Cabinet Minister Mr. Manpreet Singh Badal has been assigned the departments of Finance, Planning and Employment Generation. Similarly, Forests, Printing & Stationery, Welfare of SCs & BCs would be looked after by the newly inducted Cabinet Minister Mr. Sadhu Singh Dharamsot. Cabinet Minister Mr. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa has been given the charge of Rural Development and Panchayats and Water Supply & Sanitation.

Likewise, Cabinet Minister Mr. Rana Gurjit Singh had been allotted the portfolios of Irrigation and Power. Cabinet Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi has been allotted Technical Education and Industrial Training.

Meanwhile, Smt. Aruna Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) has been assigned the portfolios of Higher Education and School Education (Independent Charge). Another Minister of State (Independent Charge) Smt. Razia Sultana has been allotted the portfolios of PWD (B&R), Social Security & Development of Women and Children (Independent Charge).
