CHETAK CORPS ORGANISES CHILDREN’S SUMMER CAMP – 2016

Bathinda : The Indian Army’s Chetak Corps organised a summer camp for children and wards of its personnel in the Bathinda Military Station. The Children’s Summer Camp was an endeavour by Chetak Corps to initiate children into extra-curricular activities, provide them a platform to pursue their interests and showcase talents, special abilities and skills. The camp included hobby and sports activities like Horse Riding, Martial Arts, Lawn Tennis, Skating, Swimming, Basketball and Indoor Activities like Drawing & Sketching, Dance, Self Grooming and National Defence Academy & Services Selection Board interview coaching. Two new activities of Aero Modelling and Radio Jockey were introduced to develop passion for flying, rationality, creativity of mind and communication skills.

The camp received an overwhelming response, with over 175 children participating in various activities. Events of Aero Modelling and Radio Jockey classes were particularly well received by the children. A closing ceremony was held which included spirited dance display, martial art performance followed by an exhibition of aero models, drawing, painting and sculptures prepared by the children during the week long camp. During the closing ceremony, Mrs Suman Soni, Zonal President, Army Wives Welfare Association, Chetak Corps felicitated the participating children and exhorted them to discover their own hidden talents and explore new avenues of interests.
