State Bank of Patiala organized a “Run Against Drugs Addiction”

State Bank of Patiala organized a “Run Against Drugs Addiction” on 15th November, 2015 for making our Society Drug free in the states of Punjab, Haryana and UT Chandigarh. It was simultaneously held at all the District Head Quarters of these states. The objective of the event was to create awareness among public against use of drugs. As a responsible corporate citizen, SBP has lent its voice against this menace in spreading the message in a way that captures the minds of the people at large and also the media which will take the message to every corner of both the states of Punjab, Haryana and UT Chandigarh.
The Run was held in two categories of 5KM and 2 KM. The participants were children from different schools/colleges, Students from Patiala School for the Deaf & Dumb, Senior Citizens welfare association Patiala, Punjab Police, Runners Club Patiala, Army officers & Jawans (Base Camp Patiala), etc and it carried a strong Anti-Drug message.
The Run was flagged off at Patiala by Sh S.A.Ramesh Rangan, Managing Director, State Bank of Patiala. Thousands of people participated at Patiala and other district head quarters of both the states. The Other eminent personalities who graced the occasion were shri Amrinder Singh Bajaj (The Mayor, Patiala), Shri. Jagtar Singh (Principal Income Tax Commissioner), Shri. Gurmeet Singh Chauhan (SSP, Patiala) and SBOP Senior Officers/ officials.On the occasion, Bank has honored Col. Karminder Singh (Secretary, Society for Welfare of the Handicapped, Patiala) & donated a cheque of Rs. 6,16,825/- to the society for the purchase of furniture.
