Patiala : 53rd Punjabi University Annual Athletics Meet concluded successfully here today at Raja Bahlendra Singh Stadium (Synthetic Track) under the chairmanship of Dr. Raj Kumar Sharma Director, Sports Department. 50 Men teams and 40 Women teams from various colleges of university have competed each other to get winner placer in this tournament. Near about 900 men/women athletes are participating to achieve winner places. Total 18 New Records have been made successfully by the athletes belonging to various colleges of the university in this meet, whereas for their performances, university as well as colleges have gave away the cash prizes to the New Record holder athletes to encourage them. On the final day, Dr. Kulbir Singh Dhillon Dean Colleges has come as Chief Guest of the occasion to bless and gave away the winner prizes to the athletes.
OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP
In Men Section Malwa College Bathinda won Overall Championship by getting 94 points, whereas National College of Physical Education Chupki and Malwa College of Physical Education Bathinda awarded with second and third places with getting 78 and 48 points respectively.
In Women Section Public College Samana won Overall Championship by getting 162 points, whereas National College of Physical Education Chupki and Fateh College for Girls Rampura got second and third places with getting 90 and 31 points respectively.
Manveer Kaur of National College of Physical Education Chupki has awarded Best Athlete of the tournament in Women Section, on the other side Tejinder Singh Toor awarded Best Athlete of the tournament in Men Section.
