Bathinda,:Under the guidance of Chief Minister Punjab Mr Parkash Singh Badal, the Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Mr Sikandar Singh Maluka today laid foundation stone of the modern cattle fairground today. Speaking at the event Mr Maluka said that Rampura was an important cattle fair ground of Bathinda district. Monthly cattle fairs are held in this ground. During the fairs, a large number of animal traders come with their animals. The mela ground is spread in 18 acres of land on the Rampura to Phul and Rampura to Mehraj Road.
The modern cattle fair ground will have cattle shed (covered), controlled inlet and outlet, foot path tub, exit office, boundary wall, main entrance gate, main and side steel gates, site development leveling and pavers, earth work and landscaping, drinking water facilities and open stall platforms. It would have public health facilities, canteen blocks, commission agent rooms, attendants’ rooms etc. He added that the work too has been allotted and within a year’s time the same would begin. The building is being constructed as per the specifications of public works department.
The chairman zila parishad Mr Gurpreet Singh Maluka, SDM Rampura Mr Narinder Singh Dhaliwal, SE rural development and panchayat department Mr Prakash Singh, XEN panchayati raj Mr Balbir Singh Dhillon, sub divisional officer Mr Darshan Singh etc were also present.
