Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Puducherry visited Bathinda Military Station

Lieutenant General AK Singh (Retired), presently the Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Puducherry visited Bathinda Military Station from 11 Oct to 12 Oct 2015. The Governor was given a warm welcome by Lieutenant General DR Soni, General Officer Commanding, Chetak Corps at Bathinda Military Station.Lieutenant Governor is an alumnus of National Defence Academy and was commissioned into one of the oldest Armoured Regiments, the 7th Cavalry. He was the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command. The General is known for his high integrity and professionalism. He has been at the forefront of all recent major initiatives to transform the Indian Army and is looked upon as a role model by large numbers in the Armed Forces. Lieutenant General AK Singh, (Retired) after a long and distinguished military service in the Armed Forces was appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands on 08 Jul 13. With his people friendly and development oriented approach, the Andamans are set to become a springboard for India’s “Look East, Act East Policy”. During his visit the Lieutenant Governor interacted with the officers and exhorted them for serving the nation with utmost professional excellence and to take initiatives to transform the Indian Army. He emphasised that “Give more than you receive” and “work without fear or favour” should be our guiding principles in life.
