Ludhiana, : One of the most versatile actors of Bollywood and Pollywood, Jimmy Sheirgill is ready with another avatar with his next Punjabi film ‘Hero – Naam Yaad Rakhi…’ which is releasing on 10th July all over. This romantic-thriller has got all that any other Punjabi film hasn’t had in these years. The canvas looks truly international with this film being the first ever Punjabi flick fully shot abroad. It is a production of Shri Narotam Films directed by Baljit Singh Deo and produced by Ankit Vijan, Jatinder Punia and Navkiran Singh Dhaliwal. Other central characters have been played by Surveen Chawla, Mukul Dev, Shivendra Mahal and Jaggi Singh. The team was in town today to promote the film.
The music of the film was released a few days back and has been composed beautifully. Jatinder Shah, Hitesh Modhak and Money Aujla have composed the music and background score. Veet Baljit and Inda Raikoti are the lyricists and the singers’ list includes Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Arif Lohar, Ankit Tiwari, Sunidhi Chauhan, Diljit Dosanjh, Veet Baljit, Kamal Khan, Altamash Faridi, Khushboo Grewal and Ikka.
The director Baljit Singh Deo is a known name in Punjabi music video direction. This is Baljit’s third directorial venture and he is all excited about it. He said, “The film is truly fresh. Jimmy and Surveen look great together and go with the international feel of the film. I have got positive reviews for the trailer and people are asking about the concept of the film. Since it is a romantic-thriller, revealing the story would not be any fun. The anxiety has to wait until the release.”
Keeping busy with his Hindi and Punjabi obligations, Jimmy is all set to don another memorable character. He said, “Almost every film has a hero but this hero is totally different. He is possessive, aggressive, romantic, sober and patient too. The film is subject to give a new definition to romance and action in Punjabi cinema.”
Surveen is also enjoying switching between the two industries and now feels the atmosphere is same. She said, “Punjabi cinema is evolving and the level of professionalism is matching to that of Bollywood. This film is a perfect example of that. You will be awestruck with the cinematography of the film. We have shot in one of the most beautiful locations of the West Coast. I had a great experience working with our director Baljit as he knows some of the most uncommon techniques of filmmaking.”
