RURAL SELF EMPLOYMENT TRAINING INSTITUTE TRAINED 504 STUDENTS IN DIFFERENT COURSES IN 2015-16

Bathinda,: The Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI) of State Bank of Patiala has trained 504 students in the year 2015-16 imparting them training in various courses and helping them become independent. The ADC (D) Mrs Shena Aggarwal said this while presiding over district level advisory committee meeting of RSETI held today.
She said that the students are trained in courses tailored to meet the demands of market such as raj mistri, dress designing, plumber, beauty parlor, bee keeping, mobile phone service, sewing and embroidery etc. The students are from families belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) wherein they are given free training. Besides this the students completing sewing and embroidery course are also given free sewing machines so that they can work from ease of their home and supplement their families’ income.
She added that taking an initiative the RSETI center also ran a course in self-employment at Talwandi Sabo for the MGNREGA workers who have completed more than 100 days of work. Besides being given certificates at completion of course, the trainees were given travel allowance and refreshment during training. She said that the students passing out from RSETI be given bank loans on easy installments so that they can become self-employed and run their own business.
Mrs Aggarwal said that the R SETI center is being run at District Red Cross building wherein more than 1500 students have been trained so far. She said that the youngsters from 23 to 28 age group of the BPL families are imparted training. After completing course, the students are extended support from RSETI for a period of two years.
Mr Rakesh Gupta from lead bank, chief manager State Bank of Patiala Mr DK Kaushal, district manager district industrial center Mr Chaman Lal Garg, RSETI director Mr J S Sodhi and Dr Joginder Grover from Krishi Vigyan Kendra were also present.
