STATE LEVEL INSPECTION COMMITTEE CONDUCTS SURPRISE CHECKING OF SCHOOL VEHICLES

Bathinda, :The state level inspection team constituted under Punjab State School Safe Vahan Policy conducted a surprise checking of the schools of Bathinda. The team visited schools in various blocks of the district and checked the vehicles used for ferrying children. As per the instructions Honorable Punjab and Haryana High Court it is being ascertained that no unsafe vehicle is allowed to ferry children and endanger their lives.
The state level inspection team includes Mr Rajwinder Singh Gill deputy director (Punjab State Children’s Rights Protection Commission), Mr Sukhjit Singh Virk traffic inspector Ropar, Mr Avinash Kumar deputy director education department, district transport office Mr Latif Ahmed, district child protection officer Miss Ravneet Kaur Sidhu, ADTO Mr Bhupinder Singh, Mr Balraj Singh, senior inspector Mr Jagtar Singh, Mr Rajwinder Singh, Mr Khushdeep Singh, Mr Chetan Sharma, Mr Gagandeep Garg, traffic incharge inspector Mr Gursharan Singh etc.
During checking the commission members made the heads of schools aware of the government’s policy and its importance. The school’s heads responded positively and asserted the team members that they will implement the same in letter and spirit. They also gave affidavits reiterating the same to the state commission and added that the lapses found will soon be rectified. Mr Rajwinder Singh Gill said that the school vehicles should be completely safe for children.
He added that the vehicles should have first aid kit and fire extinguishers. If the female students too travel in the vehicle, there should be a female attendant too to assist them. He added that anyone found not following the policy will have to face music.
