Patiala : Reiterating its strong resolve to provide quality health care facilities to the people, an ultra modern MRI machine worth Rs. 13 Crore was installed in the Government Rajindra College Patiala catering people of the region.The MRI machine was inaugurated jointly by the Medical Education Minister Mr. Anil Joshi and Water Supply Sewerage Minister Mr. Surjit Singh Rakhra.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Joshi said that the latest MRI machine would prove advantageous in diagnosing deadly diseases including Cancer in the initial stages so that further treatment could be initiated instantaneously. He said that as compared to expensive MRI charges ranging from Rs. 5000 to Rs. 20000 the government hospitals offer similar investigations maximum for Rs. 3000. He said earlier this type of tests were possible only in PGI but now with the availability of the MRI machine it could be possible here saving precious time of the people.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Surjit Singh Rakhra appreciated the subsidised medical facilities being rendered by the government. He also said that a new sewerage system in Rajindera Hospital would be in place within next five months.
Mr. Anil Joshi also said that the Chief Minister S, Parkash Singh Badal is very serious as far as medical education and health services are concerned in the state. Major steps have also been taken to register major achievements and improvement in both these fields in a larger public interest. He also said that there was no paucity of funds for providing facilities to people.
