90TH PUNJAB OPEN ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIP BEGINS AT SPORTS SCHOOL GHUDDA EX MP GULSHAN INAUGURATES THE GAMES

Bathinda:90th Punjab Open Athletics Championship started at Sports School Ghudda today amidst fanfare. The chief guest at occasion was former MP Mrs Paramjit Kaur Gulshan
Inaugurating the games, Mrs Gulshan congratulated the participating players for being part of this mega event. She said that Punjab government’s Sports School Ghudda was a unique initiative of the state government wherein students from poor families, interested in sports, are given free education, good diet and lodging facilities. She added that the players who win in this championship will be representing Punjab in national games.
In this two-day event around 700 athletes are participating from over 22 districts in under -14 and under-16 categories in 18 different events. On October 14, the chairman District Planning Committee Bathinda Mr Jagdeep Singh Nakkai will be chief guest of the closing ceremony.
